In the end I added a tiny piece of velcro to the seam that clinged to my bra straps, problem solved!Mariannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05144010556887549717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3591480456197557629.post-16864946418828650242016-12-06T19:52:05.063+11:002016-12-06T19:52:05.063+11:00As you said Sarah Liz, the dress looks nice. The pockets are very similar to the Rachel Comey skirt that you have so many wonderful renditions of. If the sleeves went straight out instead of sloping down, they would work much better, but that would probably create more problems with excess fabric under the arm. Maybe I will just chalk this one down to experience and move onto one of the other great patterns I have in my queue.Sew, Jean Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02820699938403952341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3591480456197557629.post-44418904973990652782016-12-05T21:35:35.613+11:002016-12-05T21:35:35.613+11:00Thanks Paola. Wide necklines can be really annoying for this reason. I do like the pockets in this dress, very reminiscent of the Rachel Comey skirt that was so popular a few years ago. May you could redo the neckline to be narrower, and the sleeves to stick straighter out, so it doesn't ride up? :)Carolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03156106727490224625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3591480456197557629.post-84937312787558577952016-12-03T16:18:45.006+11:002016-12-03T16:18:45.006+11:00The dress looks good, but I'd find the sleeve ...The dress looks good, but I'd find the sleeve and neck thing annoying too. And cocoon dresses with Batwing sleeves look nice, but as you say, it is not easy to wear a layer over the top - although New Look had a pattern for a kimono sleeve jacket - I think you made that - that would go over the top. I guess you can also put warm layers underneath. And if all else fails, the fabric could be recut - they are quite sizeable pieces.Sarah Lizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17566072246120028926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3591480456197557629.post-44002342930680290132016-12-03T08:36:42.184+11:002016-12-03T08:36:42.184+11:00It is very cute but one is enough!
