'I, Jean of http://sewjeanmargaret.blogspot.com.au/ and @sewjeanmargaret on Instagram, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May '17. I endeavour to wear only me made garments each day for the duration of May 2017 (excluding underwear, jeans and accessories)'
Day 1 Monday:
The start of the working week, wearing Style Arc Maddison top in black ponte and a Colette Mabel skirt in a printed Italian ponte.
Day 2 Tuesday:
Work day again, wearing Navy and Pink. This is a new combination I hadn't put together before. Colette Mabel skirt in ponte, Grainline Studio Scout Tee in rayon and Style Arc Nina Cardigan in merino knit.
Day 3 Wednesday:
Work day again (this is getting a little monotonous) wearing Tilly and the Buttons Coco dress in black and white striped ponte with a Deer and Doe Plantain in merino underneath for warmth.
Day 4 Thursday:
Another work day over, wearing Style Arc Esme Designer Knit Top in ponte and Style Arc Fay skirt in mosaic print scuba knit. Also wearing a Deer and Doe Plantain in merino underneath for warmth.
Day 5 Friday:
TGIF and the last working day of the week. Wearing Style Arc Estelle Ponte Jacket and Paprika Patterns Jade skirt in this lovely taupe ponte from Style Arc. The top is my very first Grainline Studio Scout Tee, made a few years ago a size too big, but I love how it coordinates with this outfit.
Day 6 Saturday:
A casual day at home catching up on all the domestic duties. Wearing Style Arc Elle pants in navy bengaline, Maria Denmark Kirsten Kimono Tee in a cotton knit and a fleece hoodie I made a few years ago from a Craftsy class.
Day 7 Sunday:
Just arrived home from church wearing New Look 6071 in a purple ponte. Love that this dress is fitting much better since I have lost a few kilo's recently. Many of my "me made" garments have appeared in previous Me Made Mays, but I am trying to wear them in different combinations etc, so that they are not just boring repeats.
A big thank you to my dear husband who has been taking these daily photos for me, without too much grumbling, considering he is recuperating from a fractured pelvis, he sustained from a mountain biking accident a couple of weeks ago.
Off to start planning week two.
Happy sewing
Jean
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you Deborah.
DeleteI love all your combinations, great fabrics and beautiful coordinating pieces! Thanks for inspiring!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I have inspired you. Thank you for your lovely comment Elizabeth.
DeleteVery nice outfits. Friday is my favorite. My me made outfits have lasted years so I do not sew that many outfits. Have moved to nightgowns.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words. I have not sewn any nightwear yet, although I would love to try the Closet Case Carolyn Pyjamas and the Tilly and the Buttons Fifi pyjamas. Maybe I will have sewn some by the next Me Made May.
DeleteLove your style, Jean!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Meg. It's a work in progress.
DeleteI enjoy seeing your daily posts. You reminded me that I need to dig out New Look 6071 to make again. I hope your husband is doing well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lucy. I remember being very impressed with your lovely brown version on Pattern Review. My husband is improving a little every day and becoming more mobile.
DeleteYou are amazing with your dedication to MMMay. Always lovely outfits, nice to see how they have built over the years. Hope your husband recovers soon.
ReplyDeleteI am fortunate to have a photographer around as I rush out the door every morning. These photo shoots take mere seconds. I love seeing everyone's daily outfits and it's fun to be a part of it. My husband is recovering well thank you Sarah Liz.
DeleteI love all of your outfits, Jean. Looking forward to the rest of MMM17.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy. Hope I can keep coming up with new ideas.
DeleteAll great outfits. And kudos to your photographer, he's doing a great job.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Paola. I'm very fortunate to have a photographer at the ready every morning. It makes Me Made May so much easier.
DeleteLove everything you wear, Jean. You made so many pretty garments. Hope your husband recovers fast.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Hana. Your lovely comments always brighten my day. My husband is on the mend.
DeleteLove seeing your outfits each day and hope your husband is on the mend.
ReplyDeleteI have a question about your layering merino Plantain tee - do you make is a per the pattern or slim it down? I've got the merino and a t-shirt pattern just need to make them up.
Thanks Sharon. Hubby is recovering well.
DeleteI made the merino Plantain tees last winter to be worn as tops, but I have found them to be wonderfully warm layers under other garments this year. I made them as per the pattern, but they would work better if they were slimmed down. The neckline works well as it is quite wide and deep and is easily concealed under other garments.
I was so sorry to hear about your husband, and am pleased to see he's recovering well. I have been layering merino Plantains on this trip as they are perfect undergarments, but also double as outerwear when necessary. I do love the way you pull an outfit together!
ReplyDeleteMerino plantains have turned out to be the most useful garments ever. That easily concealed layer of warmth has made so many of my other garments more wearable in the winter. Thanks for your lovely comment Sue.
DeleteGreat combinations. I love the way you use scarves to change up and layer in an outfit. Always looks great and it is giving me many ideas!
ReplyDeleteI love scarves and I have a large collection. I think they are a great way to add some style to an outfit. Thanks for your lovely comment.
