Here we are half way through Me Made May already. Taking the photos everyday is starting to wear a bit thin and it's hard to come up with new ideas to make it more interesting. However, I know I will find it valuable information to reassess my wardrobe. Here are the photos taken over the past week:
Day 11
Monday morning and not looking too excited to go back to work. Wearing Sewaholic Renfrew Top in lilac ponte and Style Arc Barb Pants in stretch bengaline.
Day 12
Another day at work wearing Style Arc Sara Skirt in blue stretch bengaline and New Look 6648 top (made pre blog).
Day 13
Wednesday and another work day. Wearing a new dress finished the night before. It's based on the Style Arc Kristen Dress with the Sewaholic Renfrew Cowl neckline. The patterned panel on the front is a scuba knit and the navy and white fabrics are ponte knits.
Day 14
Thursday and off to work again. Wearing New Look 6071 purple ponte dress with Style Arc Terry Tie Cardigan. This was a new combination and I felt good wearing it plus it was nice and warm for a freezing day.
Day 15
Friday, last day of the working week. Being a bit slack today and only wearing one "me made" garment...my Style Arc Sara Skirt in black stretch bengaline. Everything else is RTW.
Day 16
Saturday spent at home doing housework in the morning and some sewing in the afternoon. Keeping it real...no makeup. Wearing Sewaholic Renfrew top which unfortunately has a chocolate stain on the front that refuses to wash out so is only worn around the house, and Style Arc Elle Pants.
Day 17
Sunday and we had the most perfect Autumn day. Had a short drive down the coast to meet up with an old friend for lunch. Wearing Style Arc Stacie Jean Jacket, Grainline Scout Woven Tee and Vogue 1247 Skirt (just finished last night). I made this skirt specifically to go with my floral jacket.
Love seeing what everyone else is wearing on the Me Made May '15 Flickr page.
Happy Sewing
Oh keep posting the me-mades! You might be sick of it, but it is so very interesting to see sewn garments in real life situations.
ReplyDeleteNo worries Sewingelle. I will continue to take the daily photos. It does give me a better idea about how my outfits actually look as opposed to how I think they look.
DeleteI am so impressed with all your StyleArc makes, they obviously suit you so well. I think you've made a wonderful start to MMM and the photos aren't wearing thin for the viewer (although I can totally relate :) )
ReplyDeleteI have had a lot of success with Style Arc patterns and I do like a lot of their designs. Great to find a pattern company that generally drafts to suit my figure. Thanks Sue.
DeleteLovely outfits! Style Arc really has some nice patterns. I still pine after your floral jean jacket, I love it! It looks great with your new 1247!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly. My floral jacket has been a bit of an orphan in my wardrobe so I have been concentrating on making some garments that go well with it.
DeleteAll lovely outfits. I agree the daily photo taking gets a bit much, but it is so interesting and useful. Makes it easy to work out the gaps in your wardrobe and fascinating to see what gets the most wear.
ReplyDeleteThank you Barbara. I find the daily photos are great to look back on afterwards and useful to plan what you need to make next.
DeleteYou are so lovely and the garments you've made are great looking! I love seeing the daily choices. Thank you from me for taking time to post them. I appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Nursebennett. I'm so glad you are enjoying and appreciating my efforts. I love seeing what others are wearing too.
DeleteA week of great outftis, very wearable and good to see them combined with other pieces. You are better than me, I do the occasional other photo site but mainly the hedge or the back gate:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon. At least your hedge and back gate are great backdrops to showcase your lovely outfits.
DeleteOh, how great to see your wardrobe in action - it's obviously a very practical wardrobe, but everything also looks great on you (as just about everyone else has already commented!). I'm not doing MMM this year but I remember how much of a challenge the daily photos were - you're doing brilliantly with them!
ReplyDeleteThank you Gabrielle. I do try to sew garments that will fit easily into my lifestyle. I used to wear a uniform to work, but since MMM last year I have been wearing my handmade clothes with a sprinkling of RTW. This has been great motivation for my sewing and makes getting organised for work a little more complicated, but enjoyable.
